Intersect Aspen Art + Design Fair continues to evolve and will feature some of the most expansive gallery spaces to date from local, national and international galleries. Intersect Aspen fosters a dynamic convergence between distinguished artists, galleries, curators, collectors and visionaries from across the globe and the local art community.
Positioned within Aspen’s broader cultural landscape, the fair has established itself as a key convening point—valued for its measured scale, strong programming, and close engagement with both local and international audiences.

This positive response to our efforts of bringing together extraordinary works and thought-provoking programming has been wonderful. Our objective is to raise the level of the art and the excitement of the event each year. Even with the great success of our 2025 iteration of Intersect Aspen Art + Design Fair, the upcoming edition of the fair will achieve this goal. Aspen is where art is truly elevated."
Intersect Aspen 2026 Programming:
Within Aspen’s evolving cultural landscape, Intersect Aspen has set a clear direction through programming that emphasizes depth, critical dialogue, and meaningful exchange. The 2026 edition will feature a series of talks and curated tours, developed with leading cultural partners, convening artists, curators, and collectors in conversations that extend from Aspen to a broader international context. The thematic programming for 2026 — which will be represented in programming as well as through exhibited artwork — will include perspectives of the intersections of the following topics:
The R/Evolution of Art and Technology - Intersect Aspen introduces a new 2026 theme: to examine the evolving role of technology as a creative force, shaping contemporary art at the intersection of art and technological innovation.
Art as a Catalyst for Positive Social Consciousness - Intersect Aspen positions social consciousness as extending beyond art’s role in reflecting the world around us to include its ability to prompt reflection and inspire meaningful change through vision, message, and creative expression. Art sharpens perception, sparks dialogue, and deepens a shared understanding of the cultural, environmental, and human experiences that shape our world.
The Art of our Natural World - Inspired by Aspen’s powerful natural beauty, Intersect Aspen highlights the relationship between art and the environment through presented works and conversations.
Art and the Aspen Community - Intersect Aspen continues to celebrate the region’s vibrant cultural landscape by presenting works from Aspen-based galleries and artists, alongside conversations that reflect the area’s singular role in the arts. With a legacy unlike any other, Aspen’s art community remains central to the fair.
Photography - Intersect Aspen continues to present a globally informed selection of modern, contemporary and historically important photography. Positioned in dialogue with painting, sculpture, and other disciplines, photography remains a central thread within the fair’s curatorial framework.

About Tim and Dirk von Gal, owners of Intersect Aspen Art + Design:
In 2021, Tim and Dirk von Gal relaunched Aspen’s annual art fair, Art Aspen, as Intersect Aspen Art + Design Fair. The brothers, who reside in Georgia, both have an affinity for Aspen. Dirk worked as an Aspen ski instructor in the 1990s and Tim has been a long-time visitor to Aspen. When they were presented with the opportunity to relaunch the summer art event, they were honored to take on the project and have since given the fair new life and energy while expanding its programming.
