Presented by Red Brick Center for the Arts

Photo Gallery

ASPEN, Colo. July 13, 2026 — Intersect Aspen Art + Design will spotlight the richness of Colorado's artistic community through The Colorado Connection, presented by Red Brick Center for the Arts. The special exhibition brings together four accomplished Colorado artists, featuring Whit Boucher, Kinga Czerska, John Doyle and Topher Straus, whose practices reflect the state's diverse creative landscape while exploring themes of nature, spirituality, perception and place.

"The Colorado Connection reflects the extraordinary depth of artistic talent found across our state," says Tim von Gal, CEO of Intersect Art + Design. "As Aspen welcomes collectors, curators and art enthusiasts from around the world, we're proud to celebrate the artists who call Colorado home and whose work continues to shape the region's vibrant cultural landscape."

The addition of this exhibition at Intersect Aspen coincides with Colorado's 150th anniversary, celebrating the state's rich artistic legacy and the creative voices that continue to define its cultural identity.

“Colorado’s creative community is thriving, and the artists who call the state home are creating some of the most compelling contemporary work being made today,” says Sarah Roy, Executive Director, Red Brick Center for the Arts. “We are honored to partner with Intersect Art + Design on The Colorado Connection, showcasing the extraordinary talent of a few Colorado artists and providing an opportunity for their work to be showcased at an internationally recognized art fair.”

All of the artists in this exhibition will be present at the fair, offering visitors the opportunity to engage directly with the artists behind the work.

These featured artists each bring a unique perspective shaped by their connection to Colorado:

Whit Boucher (Woody Creek, Colorado) creates hyper-detailed drawings that explore the interconnected energy of the natural world. Through intricate mark-making and symbolic imagery, his contemplative works reveal the unseen patterns that connect nature, consciousness and the human experience.

Kinga Czerska Kinga Czerska (Aspen, Colorado) is known for her intricately layered abstract paintings that explore the interconnected patterns, structures and energy found throughout the natural and built worlds. Using translucent layers and a distinctive subtractive painting process, her meditative works reveal rhythmic compositions that evoke movement, light and the unseen forces that connect our environment.

John Doyle (Aspen, Colorado) carves monumental wood sculptures inspired by the natural world, mountain life and the symbolism found in Indigenous traditions. Drawing on themes of spirituality, the changing seasons and the human form, his hand-carved works reflect a deep connection to nature and the rhythms that shape our lives.

Topher Straus Topher Straus (Golden, Colorado) expresses immersive contemporary landscapes that reimagine iconic natural and urban environments through vibrant color, movement and light. Combining digital painting with innovative production techniques, his bold works transform familiar places into dynamic, emotionally resonant experiences that invite viewers to see the world anew.

Presented by Red Brick Center for the Arts, The Colorado Connection underscores Intersect Aspen's ongoing commitment to highlighting the artists and organizations that enrich Colorado's cultural ecosystem while creating opportunities for local voices to engage with an international audience during one of Aspen's most anticipated weeks for art and design.
