Intersect Aspen Art + Design Fair to Mark Aspen Debut of World-renowned Artist Carole Feuerman’s Sculptural Installations at the Base of Aspen Mountain, July 27–August 2, 2026

ASPEN, Colo., July 22, 2026 —From the Eiffel Tower to Aspen Mountain, one of the world’s most recognizable contemporary sculptures has found its next extraordinary setting.
Presented by Hilton Contemporary and Intersect Aspen Art + Design Fair, this installation recognizes Feuerman as one of the pioneers of hyperrealism with two public sculptures on display at the base of Aspen Mountain starting July 27, titled ‘The Diver’ and ‘Christina’.
The public is invited to an unveiling celebration on Thursday, July 30, at 11:30 a.m. in Upper Gondola Plaza, where artist Carole Feuerman will participate in a public conversation about her work, artistic practice, the realism of her sculpture ‘Christina’ and the journey of ‘The Diver’ from Paris to Aspen. Complimentary beverages will be provided by Ajax Tavern. While the public is invited to the reception, they are asked to kindly RSVP here.
The public event will begin in Upper Gondola Plaza at the ‘Christina’ sculpture and then the tour will move down to ‘The Diver’ in Lower Gondola Plaza.

Carole Feuerman’s Christina (Life-size) and The Diver, to be unveiled during during ArtWeek in Aspen on Upper and Lower Gondola Plaza. The Diver was previously exhibited at the Eiffel Tower for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
More on ‘The Diver’:Following its acclaimed presentation beneath the Eiffel Tower during the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, internationally renowned sculptor Carole Feuerman’s monumental bronze sculpture, ‘The Diver’, will be unveiled at the base of Aspen Mountain, in lower gondola plaza, as part of Intersect Aspen Art + Design. Selected from thousands of submissions for exhibition during the Olympic Games, the sculpture now comes to one of the world’s most celebrated mountain destinations—a place where athletic excellence, international culture and breathtaking landscapes converge. In addition to ‘The Diver’, visitors will have the opportunity to experience ‘Christina’, another celebrated sculpture by Feuerman, on view in Upper Gondola Plaza, offering a rare presentation of two major works by the artist in the heart of Aspen. ‘Christina’ represents Feuerman’s hyper-realism and life-like sculpture work and will have the iconic view of Aspen Mountain as its backdrop.
‘The Diver’ creates a powerful dialogue between two iconic global destinations. While the Eiffel Tower welcomed the world’s greatest athletes during the Olympic Games, Aspen Mountain has long been synonymous with world-class skiing, Olympic champions and an enduring spirit of adventure.
Rather than celebrating a single sport, ‘The Diver’ embodies the universal qualities shared by all athletes: courage, focus, discipline and the commitment to take the leap. Those ideals resonate just as profoundly at the base of Aspen Mountain as they did beneath one of the world’s most famous landmarks.
The installation reflects Intersect Aspen Art + Design’s commitment to presenting museum-quality public art while making world-class cultural experiences accessible to the entire Aspen community.

About Tim and Dirk von Gal, owners of Intersect Aspen Art + Design:
In 2021, Tim and Dirk von Gal relaunched Aspen’s annual art fair, Art Aspen, as Intersect Aspen Art + Design Fair. The brothers are from Connecticut and now reside in Georgia. Both have a deep affinity for Aspen. Dirk worked as an Aspen ski instructor in the 1990s and Tim has been a long-time visitor to Aspen. When they were presented with the opportunity to relaunch the summer art event, they were honored to take on the project and have since given the fair new life and energy while expanding its programming.
